craigslist ad for the win

if this is still available, it's a done deal.
"Dropped 88' Mazda B2200, guaranteed to melt some faces. In need of the prow to seduce the lady of your dreams? Wanna stick it to the man from a few inches off the ground? If the latter's the case (and it most likely is) then this kickin' chicken car is for you. I bought this car in 2009 and immediately grew a mustache upon taking it for a spin. This car WILL turn you into a man (or woman depending upon the buyer). At the very least you'll be transformed into something, maybe a bear.

Features: It might change you into a bear (anything's possible, just saying).

It's got gears and stuff: Unlike the 'lazy good-for-nothing' car culture of today, people in 1988 used 3 pedals like red-blooded Americans. Keep this simple equation in mind: 5 speed manual= not a communist.

Sporty racing seats: Nothing says, "I feel like I'm going faster than I actually am" like some quality seats.

Steering wheel: You'll need this.

Wheels: They're necessary.

Four-cylinder engine: You probably won't blow your neighbor's Mustang out of the water, but you'll have plenty of time to steal his wife while he's busy filling his tank. 28mpg's means plenty of time for cougar cruisin'.

It purrs like a kitten, literally. With 111,958 original miles this car still has plenty of head-turning left to do.

Fabulous features not enough? I'll throw in my friendship to sweeten the deal. You (the new owner of a fabulous yellow truck) will call me Nathaniel Dibbington. I (Nathaniel Dibbington) will sit shotgun regaling you with tales of manly exploits as we sing songs, navigate the treacherous waters of the Tigris, and climb the stony Caucasus mountain pass.

If you're interested, swing by and fall in love. Also, the Mazda B2200 is technically a truck. It has a bed and various truck-like components."

first sight

"i believe in love at first sight, but i will always believe that the people we love, we have loved before. many, many, many times before and when we stumble through grace and circumstance and that brilliant illusion of choice to finally meet them again, we feel it faster each time through. the one glance that set life alight is two sets of eyes staring through the layers of lifetimes and stolen glances and first kisses and hands held; the brace against the weight of the unrelenting tide of waiting. i believe in love at first sight, but am not burdened with the misconception that it's a first sight at all."

chaos of thoughts

my mind is a mess. a mess, i tell you.
so much is happening and i don't even know where to start because my mind is just a jumbled mess.
it's good things, i think. and it involves a boy. other than that, i don't know what to tell you.
you get to remain in suspense until i have a better hold on my tangled thoughts.
ps- last monday, i was in charge of family home evening for my single's ward and planned a pool party/watermelon football/bbq activity. it went over superb. just thought i'd document how awesome i am at planning fhe.

take me back

take me back to small towns and great weather and good times.
my fourth of july weekend was fantastic. i took a little trip up to the white mountains with my friends ben, bryant, and lizzy. we started it off right by visiting los corrales in pinetop. if you ever find yourself in pinetop, az you must go, trust me.
ben is part of the clean plate club.

byrant is also part of the clean plate club.
next we went frog hunting. yes, frog hunting. we may be just a little hick.
for those of you more civilized than us and unsure of what this activity consists of, let me educate you. you take some flashlights, trudge through a creek, and when you spot a bullfrog's eyes glowing in the dark, you shoot it with a pellet gun. it makes for some good fun. go ahead, judge me.

the next morning we decided to go swimming in fool's hollow lake in show low. the water may have been a bit freezing and it did start to rain on us, but it didn't ruin our good time.

lizzy and ben being their photogenic selves.

that night, we headed to snowflake for their rodeo. i don't know about you, but i love me some good country fun down at the rodeo. afterwards, they had some fantastic fireworks and a dance.

the only problem with having such a great weekend is that it makes it difficult to come back to reality. also, it's hard coming back to the hot valley after having such beautiful white mountain weather. but alas, real life has stolen me back.

here's a quick little video of our weekend. i was absolutely the worst at documenting this trip.

celebrating the most non-monumental blog post

i realized this morning that yesterday's post was my 100th blog post on hearts and chances. if i had known that beforehand, i would have done something much more exciting which would have involved dancing monkeys and cake. but instead we'll celebrate this non-monumental post by slow-clapping it out.
on another note, i hope everyone had a fanstatic 4th yesterday. mine started out with a wonderful breakfast with friends.

the rest of the day was spent relaxing and then a few friends came over that evening to play games and chill on my roof because that's what the cool kids do. but i'll be celebrating america's indepedence this weekend. after work, i'm headed to the white mountains (located in northern arizona). going back to my small town roots. there will be rodeos, swing dancing, and firework shows galore. i'm so excited. :)

Remember that one time I went to California and visited Disneyland, the Newport Beach Temple & the LA Temple, and also the Santa Monica Beach? Well I finally got a little video montage together. Only a few months late...
